Vision Statement

Scriptural Reference: Proverbs 29:18

"Where there is no revelation (vision), the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the law."

Scriptural Reference: Matthew 6:33

"But seek ye first the kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

The Spottswood African Methodist Episcopal Zion church emphasizes unconditional acceptance of all who know and receive the Word of God. As disciples of Christ and heirs to the promises of the Creator, we seek nourishment in the Word for the purpose of empowering the internal being to seek and secure righteousness. Godly living is the apex we strive to achieve. "A Church Serving Humanity"

Mission/Purpose Statement

The Spottswood African Methodist Episcopal Zion church is a community of believers dedicated to the service of humanity through the development and implementation of community oriented ministries. We emphasize the strengthening of the internal being (spirit) through deliverance by the Word, dependence on the Word, development in the Word, demonstration of the Word, and deploying the Word. Through this five-fold process the mission mandate of winning souls for Christ is continued and God receives total praise!!!

Explaination of the Five Interlocking Circles

The circles represent completeness/wholeness. According to
Matthew 5:48, we are encouraged to be perfect (complete-whole) as our heavenly Father is perfect (complete-whole). The interlocking
of the circles signifies cohesiveness.
The Creator - According to Genesis, God the Father is creator of
all. As the creative power of the world all things belong to Him.
(Psalm 24)
The Christ - Jesus the Christ is God incarnate. He entered the
world to reoncile humanity. This was accomplished on Calvary
and His resurrection on the third day morning.
The Creation - Humanity, along with every living organism is a creation of the Creator.
The Church - A fellowship of those who have responded to the call of forsaking all for Christ.
The Community - The mission mandate is that of outreach. We go forth as disciples of Christ into the community (world) and witness as to His saving grace.

Red
is symbolic of loyalty, power, witness, zeal, blood, fire, the work and ministry of the church and Holy Spirit.
Green is symbolic of freshness of nature, hope, life and growth.
Purple is symbolic of royalty, praying, fasting and penitence.
Blue is symbolic of hope.
Gold denotes worth, virtue, glory to God and Christian might.
